                                    NO SEW TUTU!

For my genius hour project I am going to make a no sew tutu. I am going to make it pink, blue and purple. I am also using light purple because that is what the lady at the shops recommended. The fabric I am going to use is tulle. It is going to be quite fluffy and pretty. I am going to make it fit  me. I am also making a slide show. My dad is going to teach me how to make the slide show at home. I am going to make the tutu at home.

MATERIALS

*Half a meter each of tulle. (I am using pink, blue and purple and light purple tulle)

*Sharp scissors

*Elastic

*Thread and needle

*Ribbon (optional)

*Ruler or measuring tape

HOW TO MAKE

Step 1. To start cut the wrap the tulle into a rectangle.

Step 2. Cut three inches long and keep doing till you have cut all of you tulle.

Step 3. Cut them into strips

Step 4 Measure the person's waist.

Step 5. Make it bigger if you want it bigger for the future.

Step 6. Sew the elastic together.

Step 7. Now knot the tulle on your elastic.

Step 8. Keep going until it's full. You can make it fluffy.

                                                       Now you are done:)

                                            EXTRA INFO

*In 1661 a dance academy had opened in Paris.
*The first tutu was made by a famous French designer, Eugene Lami.
*The legendary ballerina Marie Carmago did a lot to change the fashion of ballet. She shortened the ballet skirt to allow more leg and foot movement.

This is what I am expecting it to look like.

The way I want it to come out is that when I put it on it doesn't fall apart. I want it to go as planned. I think I might stuff it up because this is something new I have done.

I HOPE YOU LIKE MY IDEA:)
I have finally made my tutu! It is pretty fluffy. The sewing was super hard but I managed to make up a way that worked. The inside of the tutu where your waist goes has bits of tulle sticking in there. The tulle sticks up and you have to wear tights if you want to wear it because you can still see through. I ran out of blue tulle because I folded it wrong and it turned out in squares.
